Scans~ various stuff
I’ve been gone for quite a while, but now I finally get some days off from school/work. Last rotation was kept me busy all the time. Anyway, I have stacks of stuff to scan, but I still feel really tired and unmotivated, so I just picked some stuff I like best to scan. First, we’ll start with some CLAMP stuff. Mutuality: CLAMP works in Code Geass is really pretty, but most of the book consists of black and white sketches. It has all the artwork CLAMP did for the series.
Next up is Kobato from Newtype. This time, I have Kobato Drop 11 for you as well as a few pages from Newtype featuring the anime.
I have some more stuff, but I’ll save those for later :D
Gundam Ace and other anime magazine scans
I’ve been really too busy to scan much besides finishing up the Junjou romantica artbook. I have this weekend off, so I scanned some stuff. I think almost everything I’m interested in has been scanned and shared by other people already, so I didn’t have to do much scanning.
Gundam Ace November and December ~ I say with regret that they were a waste of money. There is a chapter in it about Lockon and his final moments though. I’ll scan that later.
On to the scans, starting with Gundam00, followed by some Hakushaku to yousei (Earl and Fairy), Junjou romantica, and soul eater scans.

Nabari no Ou artbook – Liricamente
Taking another break from studying XD I guess I’ll review the Nabari no Ou artbook. Liricamente is a hardcover A4 sized artbook. The price for this one is 2381yen. The cost to get it in your hands varies depending on where you purchase it. I think the average amount is about $35. The cover features Miharu and the back Yoite on matte paper. I like the feel of it (kinda like cotton paper). The inside cover is orange with some leaves and butterflies. The book is divided into 3 movements and has about 50-55 color illustrations, a couple of black and white images, and some sketch art in the back for a total of 80 pages (with all the pages counted). The pages feel thin to me, but I like the texture. It’s different from the typical thick pages. What I don’t like is that you can leave pretty obvious finger prints on the dark pages as you’re thumbing through, or as I was flattening it to scan. As far as the illustrations included, they’re pretty, but I have to say I’m not too impressed… I guess part of it stems from the lack of illustrations included. Overall, I’d recommend it you’re a nabari fanatic.

Junjou Romantica Illustration Collection by Shungiku Nakamura
This is a great artbook with tons of pretty illustrations. In my opinion it’s well worth the money. This is a softcover A4 sized artbook. The price is 2200yen. It’ll cost about $35 if you’re not in Japan or somewhere close. Colored illustrations take up 112 pages, and there’s a short comic at the end, bringing the total page count to 128. The dust cover is a bit unusual in that it has a plasticky feeling instead of the matte ones I’m used to. It’s not a fancy artbook by any means, but it’s solid with lots of illustrations (very good bang for your buck). Page thickness is average, nothing special. Overall, I highly recommend it if you’re a Junjou fan; you won’t be disappointed.

New artbooks added to collection
I have 4 recent additions to my artbook collection ~ the nabari no ou artbook – liricamente, the junjou romantica illustration collection, the spiral alive artbook (#3 in the series), and the zombie loan artbook. That brings my collection to about 35-40 artbooks. I consider the junjou and the zombie loan ones to be excellent buys. I’ll write a review on them later with preview scans from the artbooks if I find some spare time.
Will add some info on these books in a few weeks after my exams are “done.”

I had no idea nobody scanned the lulu metallic poster… it’s such a pretty thing too. It’s nice and shiny; the scan doesn’t do it justice. I had some trouble scanning this poster =x It doesn’t fit on the scanning bed of course, so I had to scan it in sections… I mean, I scan stuff in sections and merge them in photoshop all the time, so it wasn’t a big deal… until my scanner gave me totally different colors for the different sections o_O I being lazy, tried to compensate in photoshop and adjust the colors… but it was just too different, and the scan came out looking washed-out ;_; I changed the scanner settings and rescanned the whole thing, so now it’s all nice and pretty <3 Yeah, it’s darker, but that’s how the poster is…
Illustrations Rebels
I said I’d write a review on this artbook like 2 months ago or something… ^^;; I’m too busy to write a full review on it, but in my opinion, the artbook is well worth the money. It isn’t one of those super huge artbooks. It’s about the size of the tsubasa chronicles artbook Album de Reproductions (about A4 size). This artbook collects 127 illustrations that appeared in various anime magazines. I think most of the book has been scanned and uploaded to animepaper.net by suemura, so I have no plans to scan this book. For people not sure about the content and who are collecting the scans, I’ve scanned the index at the back.
Bleach mini photo sticker collection
I bought this box of 40-pack of bleach stickers. I must say it was a a good buy @around $65. There were only 5 sheets I didn’t like. Each sheet is individually sealed in its own envelop (the envelop was really pretty), so when my package came, I sat around and spent a while opening to see what’s all inside. Anyway, sample scans below.
Soul Eater
Even though I’m not that fond of the art, I really like the story, action, and characters. I’ve read the manga up to the latest scanlated chapter and watched the anime up to the latest subbed episodes :D
Pretty good chunk of material in the animedia this month. There are also spreads in newtype and animage. I hate scanning animage ~_~ I can’t flatten it for the life of me and I don’t want to do 4 scans like I did for the newtype scan anyway.

Animedia and Animage June 2008
Wasn’t impressed with the June animedia… actually I’m disappointed except for the nice soul eater section. Well, I guess I really like the code geass clearfile that came with it. Anyway, I only scanned the soul eater spread and the gundam 00 popup stand thing. Didn’t really like the Animage that much either. Where are my bishies? ;_; The animage cover is pretty though. Animage came with Gundam 00 playing cards. I scanned a couple of cards. The back is black with the celestial being symbol and the words mobile suit gundam 00. The face of the cards feature characters cut from scenes in the anime mostly. The aces and jack, queen, and king cards feature our meisters. Spades – setsuna, hearts – tieria, clubs – lockon, diamonds – allelujah.
